Self-described as a creative drama school focused on building confidence, StageAbility has been helping young people on the stage for over 10 years. Regardless of skill or ability, owner Jackie believes drama plays an important role in giving young people valuable life skills and new opportunities.
Thanks to her ethos, StageAbility is thriving in Berkshire. The drama school now operates in 15+ venues, 3 schools and sees committed children coming every week. But what’s the secret to Jackie’s success?
Setting the Bar High
Jackie’s always had a passion for drama, so when flexible working became a priority, she took the plunge and started StageAbility. Part of Jackie’s success has been down to hiring the best teachers who share her ethos. They’re all committed to nurturing young people, inspiring them and showing the full potential of every child.
And because parents bought into this, the school’s popularity exploded in Berkshire. Demand was so high that weekly classes have grown into annual shows, activity camps and workshops. While each of these are different in their set-up, Jackie believes that each class goes beyond building confidence; they instil valuable life skills.
It’s not all about the stage training… We start with building self-confidence, teamwork and losing inhibitions. And progression is phenomenal!

A Change of Direction
But with increasing demand for spaces at StageAbility came disorganisation. Jackie was drowning in spreadsheets and three systems to help her with the day-to-day running of the school. Chasing payments, issuing invoices, sending emails to parents and keeping clean registers became a nightmare.
And that’s when Jackie looked for a new member to add to her cast.
I was nervous in the beginning, but the support is great. ClassForKids is now central to everything we do and feels embedded in our business.

Adding ClassForKids to the Cast
Jackie’s been using the ClassForKids for over 3 years now and couldn’t imagine life without it. Although she was initially nervous about the change, the transition for Jackie was easy thanks to the support offered by the Support team at the ClassForKids HQ.
And because parents are so familiar with purchasing online and having monthly subscriptions for things like Amazon Prime and Netflix, the change for StageAbility’s customers was seamless.
Since using the system, day to day operations have improved dramatically. All bookings and payments are contactless and managed through the system, communication is automated and Jackie even takes payment through monthly subscriptions. This makes it easier to see cash flow at a glance and makes classes more affordable for parents!
Jackie’s teachers can access class registers quickly, view medical information and contact details straight from their mobile phones at the touch of a button giving them greater confidence in class to focus on what matters.
With the ClassForKids system, Jackie was able to move her classes online during the pandemic. This helped her maintain business continuity and generate cash flow despite facing hurdles. And as she plans to return to business, the system will play a role in communicating with parents and accessing the data she needs to give her confidence.
Setting the Stage for Success
Jackie plans to continue growing by opening up more classes and expanding throughout the area. And it’s her long term goal to have her own venue for the business.
Because ClassForKids is now part of Jackie’s business processes, growth has become more manageable. With all of the data she needs is in one place, Jackie can easily review financial information and data to help drive business decisions.
